Jason Barry Hignite, 51, of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born November 17, 1973, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Ronnie and Judy (Evans) Hignite.
Jason graduated from Jennings County High School in 1992 and served in the U.S. Navy from 2005-2009. He worked in the paint department at Honda in Greensburg for 5 years and for Sylvania and Lear Zigler, both in Seymour. Jason enjoyed flying drones, listening to music, fishing, riding ATVs, and watching movies.
He is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Judy Hignite of North Vernon; daughter, Kaitlynn (Dakota) Stacy of Austin; sister, Sarah Cartwright of North Vernon; and granddaughter, Piper Rose Stacy of Austin.
Military rites for Jason will be held by Matt Hester VFW Post #2021 at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Visitation for his family and friends will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the start of the military service.
Memorial donations in honor of Jason may be made through the funeral home to Robley Rex VA Medical Center.
