Jeffrey Jessie Perez, 54, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family.
Jeff was born on July 9, 1970, in La Porte, to Jesus Sanchez and Wanda (Humphrey) Perez.
On November 17, 1995, Jeff married the love of his life, Lauressa Arndt, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives, along with their two children, Gregory Elliott of La Porte and Erika Perez of La Porte; and four cherished grandchildren: Hayden Elliott of La Porte, Khloe Perez of Rolling Prairie, Willow Elliott of La Porte, and Carter Schlemmer of La Porte. Also surviving are his loving mother, Wanda Perez of La Porte; two sisters, Diana Perez of La Porte and Valarie (James) Peterson of Fort Wayne; as well as five nieces and a host of extended family and friends who will deeply miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Sanchez Perez; his beloved son, Brandon Perez; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and a dear cousin, George W. Humphrey III.
Jeff dedicated many years of his life working at Commercial Fluid Power. Known for his strong work ethic and easygoing nature, Jeff was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. He had a passion for the simple joys of life-mushroom hunting with his brother-in-law, Pete, and treasure-hunting at garage sales with his niece Lisa. A lifelong fan of motorsports, Jeff loved watching NASCAR and attending Outlaw Street Racing events.
Above all, Jeff was a "family man" through and through. He was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones and created countless lasting memories with his grandchildren, whom he adored. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty to those he held dear.
