Jeremiah "Jerry" Frain of Woodland Park NJ was 89 years old when he passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1935 to Anna and James Frain in Jersey City, NJ and lived the majority of his life in Rutherford, NJ. Jerry was the cherished husband of Barbara Frain, they were married 65 years on May 7, 2025. Jerry is survived by his loving family: son Kevin and daughter in law Terri, daughter Kelly and son Ken and daughter in law Kim. Jerry is also survived by his six grandchildren Lauren and husband Steve, Matt, Danny, Austin, Allison and Caroline and two great-grandchildren Shelby and Nolan. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues and golf buddies. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Anna and James, his brother James and his sister Marilyn. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957.
Jerry was an active member of the Rutherford Community for many years serving as President of Rutherford Football League, President of the St. Mary's Fathers and Alumni club, member of the St. Mary's Hall of Fame and member of the Rutherford Elks club.
Jerry was a passionate sports fan and lifelong member of the Notre Dame "subway alumni." He was involved in Rutherford Sports for many years: coaching St Mary's Freshman football, Rutherford Jr. Football, Rutherford Little League and Rutherford Biddy basketball. As an avid golfer he spent many years as a member of the Upper Montclair Country Club and served as President of the Club from 2003 - 2004.
Jerry had a successful business career in manufacturer's representation. He started his own business and served as President of Frain Bovasso for forty years. He was on the board of the NJ Sanitary Supply Org. for 6 years and served on the board of the Manufacturers Reps of America for 3 years.
