Jeremy Willard Baker, 48, of Greensburg, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024, at home.
He was born on February 13, 1976, in Greensburg, Indiana, a son of Willard M. and Jeannetta (Fletcher) Baker.
Jeremy attended North Decatur Elementary, Clarksburg Covenant, and graduated as Valedictorian from Victory Academy in Connersville in 1994. In 1999, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Union Bible College in Westfield. Following graduation, he worked for UBC and served as the Director of Publishing from 2003 - 2009.
He served as a missionary with Victory Inner-City Ministries in Indianapolis from the very first Freedom Rally in 1998 at Willard Park until 2011, when he went as a pioneer missionary to Detroit, Michigan. He served in Detroit until 2013, when he returned to Upland, Indiana, to support the ministry at the farm.
Jeremy was an ordained minister with the International Conservative Holiness Association, where he served as a clerical assistant in publishing their annual ministerial directory, policy manual, and newsletters. He also volunteered at church camp in the boys' dorm and, for 27 years, assisted with Kid's Camp. Jeremy also assisted the Rev. Dr. Rollin Mitchell with the publishing of his three books.
He was a member of the Clarksburg Covenant Church and was active in the bus ministry. For many years, he faithfully ran the Lake McCoy bus route.
Jeremy enjoyed working on computers, rebuilding anything, cooking, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing board games, especially Monopoly and Life. Whenever a family member or friend was in need, Jeremy would drop everything and be there for them. He was especially helpful to his mom, brother and sisters and took good care of his nieces.
Those left to cherish Jeremy's memory include his mother, Jeannetta Baker of Greensburg; a brother, Jeffrey Allen Baker of Greensburg; four sisters, Julia (John) Yagle of Indianapolis, Stephanie Baker, Danielle (Kenton) Everhart, and Becca (Braydon) Caudill, all of Greensburg, as well as several foster siblings; four nieces, Delilah, Mia, WillaMay, and Elena; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard M. Baker, in 2020 and by an aunt he was especially close to, Katharine Browning, in 2020.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Clarksburg Covenant Church, 6696 N. County Road 700 E. Clarksburg, IN 47225, with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Saturday.
