Jerry L. Robinson, 88, of Cumback, IN, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at his residence in Cumback, IN.
He was born on June 3, 1935, to the late Frank and Lucille (Taylor) Robinson in Washington, IN.
Jerry was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School. Upon completion of high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. After serving his duty in the Army, Jerry returned home and went to work for the railroad. Over the years, he worked between the railroad and farming, and eventually he retired from CSX Railroad.
In his retirement years, Jerry enjoyed spending time with people he loved. He liked to garden, go golfing with his friends, and go meet up for a good meal multiple times a day. Jerry also enjoyed traveling, and was frequently on the go traveling through Washington, and Daviess County.
Surviving Jerry is his sister, Diana (George) Peel of Washington, IN; several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucille (Taylor) Robinson; and his siblings, Imogene (Robinson) Arthur, Margie (Robinson) Armes, Joyce (Robinson) White, and Paul Robinson.
Visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00am at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Friends and family may visit from 10:00am until the time of service. Immediately following the funeral service, Jerry will be laid to rest next to his parents in the East Union Cemetery in Montgomery, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Gilead Methodist Church, 6235 S 100 E Washington, IN 47501, In Care of Todd Allison.
