After exhibiting exemplary strength and courage while facing multiple illnesses, Jeryl (Jerry) Glen Willson passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born March 25, 1955, in Bunkie, Louisiana to James Lee Willson and Martha Jeanne Grasaffi.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Baronne Willson; his stepchildren of 32 years, Chris (Molly), Jeni, and Amy; his grandchildren, Leon, Remy, and Eugi; brothers, James “Jimmie” (Liz) and Joel (Vickie); his sister, Sandra; his sisters-in-law, Toni (John), Charlotte, and Kathy (Roger); his brother-in-law, Jay; his nieces and nephews, Angie, Chris (Sam), Leigh (Matt), Joel Paul, Daniel (Leanne), Hannah (Andrew), Luke (Alyssa), Josiah, Katy, Stephen, Eric, Greg, Gina, Kevin, Kaley, Christy, and Sandra; and his stepchildren from a previous marriage, Brandi, Tommie, and Tony. He is preceded in death by parents, James Lee Willson and Martha Jeanne Grasaffi; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Baronne; his brothers-in-law, Ray Thorpe and Paul Baronne; his sister-in-law, Pat; his daughter-in-law, Julia; and his nephews, James and Nikiya.
Jerry was “one heck of a guy,” whose favorite things in life were driving, cars, family, faith, music, and coffee. He loved conversation and never met a stranger. Jerry was happy to impart his wisdom and knowledge on anyone who would listen. He was even-keeled, kindhearted, and loved by everyone who knew him. While driving across the country, Jerry became enamored with southwestern history, scenery, and culture, while honing his excellent dashboard piano skills.
Jerry was a no-fuss individual, with the exception of his shoe and hat collections. His endearing demeanor was unforgettable to all who met him, creating humor in all situations - even when unintentional. He was content with his happy home life and enjoyed eating traditional food and taking care of his yard and garage. Jerry would want everyone to know that he had no regrets, loved his life, and will be looking forward to seeing everyone again down the road.
