Jesse Diaz Hernandez Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and faithful friend, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, at the age of 73. Born in Taylor, Jesse grew up in McNeil and later raised his family in Round Rock, Texas - the community he loved and served.
Jesse was known as a hardworking provider, a selfless giver, and a man who lived out God's greatest commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself." His generosity, both in time and resources, touched countless lives, and his example of integrity and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was a proud member of El Amistad Club and a 50-year member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 286 in Austin, where he was respected not only for his skill but for his loyalty, mentorship, and strong work ethic.
In his final days, Jesse reaffirmed his faith in Jesus Christ, guaranteeing his place with our Lord and Savior. His family takes great comfort in knowing he is now at peace and in the presence of God.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Hernandez, and his five children: Kathy Contreras, Jesse Jr., Andrew, Anthony, and Mercedes, along with their spouses and Sisters Marylou & Irene. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, great-granddaughter, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Hernandez and Ester Diaz Hernandez, as well as his beloved brothers: Big John, Roy, Victor, and Raymon.
Jesse's legacy is one of strength, compassion, and enduring love - a legacy that will continue through his family and all who had the blessing of knowing him.
