It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Arthur Driver, a beloved son, brother, father, "Pawpaw Jim," and cherished friend to all. Jim, age 54, of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1970, to his loving parents, Jerry Ayers Driver and Melba Driver.
Jim was a well-respected builder who dedicated his life to his craft and his family. Throughout his career, he worked side-by-side with his father, Jerry, sharing a deep bond and a passion for their trade. Together, they channeled their skills and their generous spirits into their work.
Jim played a major role in providing safe and comfortable homes for families in need with Habitat for Humanity. Jim's commitment to his community and his tireless service will remain an inspiration to all who knew him.
To his children and grandchildren, Jim was an amazing provider and an incredible source of strength and laughter. Known affectionately as "Pawpaw Jim," he poured his heart into his family, and his greatest joy came from being a father to his children and a grandfather to his many grandchildren. He taught them the value of hard work, kindness, and loyalty, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Driver; his grandchild, Jude; grandparents Mary and Arthur Driver and Beatrice and Vestar Smallwood; his nephew, Justin McKinstry; and his niece, Niki Born.
In addition to his parents, Jerry and Melba Driver, Jim is survived by his daughters, Jessica Driver of Carrollton and Jana Driver of Carrollton; God daughter Heather Charette. He was the proud "Pawpaw Jim" to his grandchildren, Trystan, Skyla, Kayllum, Addie, Lily-Mae, Oakley, Tatum, Stetsyn, Jamie, Emma, Ella, and Elynn. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Reeme (John) of Bremen, Terri Driver of Villa Rica and Andrea Driver (Jim's best friend) of Villa Rica, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Jim's Go Fund Me page to assist with funeral expenses at https://gofund.me/39a2a40e
Jim's legacy will live on through the lives he touched, both personally and professionally. He will be remembered not only for his significant contributions to his field but also for the warmth and kindness he showed to everyone he met.
