James E. Sojka, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at his home in Granger, IN, at the age of 68. He was born on June 4, 1956, in Mishawaka, IN. Jim was the cherished son of the late Frank and Jane (Entzian) Sojka. A man of many interests, Jim was an ardent sports enthusiast. His love for the game was evident as he spent four years playing hockey during his tenure at St. Joseph High School. Golf was also a favorite pastime, allowing him to enjoy the outdoors and the camaraderie of friends. Hill of Edwardsburg, MI, Alexander J. Sojka of Bedford, TX, and Bryce J. (Sam) Hill of Osceola, IN; and his adored grandchild, Brooks B. Hill. Jim's legacy also lives on through his brother, Michael (Debra) Sojka of Plainfield, IN, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember him fondly.
A man of faith, Jim was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. His commitment to his beliefs was unwavering and provided him with strength and solace throughout his life.
Jim's memory will be treasured as a beacon of love, integrity, and graciousness. His absence will be deeply felt, but the impact of his life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
