Jimmie R. Exum

Jimmie R Exum passed away at home on November 5th, 2025, at the age of 80.
He was a Navy veteran with an honorable discharge, and earned a Bachelors degree at Old Dominion University.
He ventured forward by serving 10 years with the Norfolk Police department, before pioneering the bail bond business based in Virginia Beach as the president of Exum Bonding Company, Inc. for over 50 years.
He has been a real estate investor for decades, and a proud member of the Mason fraternity for over 50 years.
Jimmie was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother. He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Donna Gregory Exum, daughters Wendy L. Exum and Christine Exum Mitchell (Bear), sons Jim Exum and Charles G. Exum (Janine), granddaughters Caitlin Exum and Sarah Mitchell, grandsons Tyler Exum, Adam Mitchell and Max Nicholson. He is also survived by his sister Rose Exum (Carol), twin sisters Margie L. Roberts (Larry) and Joyce M. Russell (Dick), brother Bruce W. Exum (Marie), and many nieces, nephews and loyal friends.
The funeral service will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments located at 1501 Colonial Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23517 on November 16, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. There will be a visitation at 11:00 A.M.
There will be a procession and grave site service to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery located at 8100 Granby St., Norfolk, VA 23505.
