Funeral service for Mr. Jimmie Wayne Thompson, 75, of Monroe, LA, formerly of East Carroll Parish, will be held at 12:00PM Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA, with Rev. Rick Aultman officiating. Interment will follow in the McBroom Cemetery in Baskin, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the funeral home.
Jimmie was born on March 9, 1950, in Lake Providence, LA, to James Lamar (Jimmy) and Ruth Matthews Thompson. He worked for various farmers in the Lake Providence area before moving to Monroe in the 1980s and then worked for Sharpco, Inc. Jimmie also worked driving the bus for Ouachita Head Start CAP and after retiring he helped his brother Jerry in the hay field for several years.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Ruth Thompson; wife, Rose Mary (Rosie) McBroom Thompson; and his bonus son, Brad Cook.
Survivors include his sister, Helen Chaney of Monroe; brother, Jerry Thompson and wife TiaJuana of Mangham; bonus siblings, Wanda Cook of Lake Providence, Mary Ann Rios of Lake Providence, and Allen Cook of Transylvania; nephews, Michael New of Atlanta, GA, Chris Chaney of Atlanta, GA, Zack Chaney of Vicksburg, MS, Jeremy Thompson of Monroe, and James (Jamie) Thompson of Mangham.
Pallbearers will be Michael New, Jeremy Thompson, Chris Chaney, Zack Chaney, James Thompson, and Remy Thompson.
