Joan Marie Salow, 63, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Earlville with visitation one hour prior to mass with the Reverend Chris Podhajsky officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Joan was born on November 10, 1960, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of David and Rose (Werner) Salow. She graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1979 and worked for Rockwell Collins for 33 years until her retirement. Joan loved to bake and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed attending all of her nieces and nephews' school activities. Joan impacted many people's lives over the years and always put others first. She was an independent, selfless, loving person who showed everyone around her what strength is. Joan was always willing to give advice to those who asked but most of all she was a best friend. Joan will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her siblings, Judy (Randy) Hillers of Manchester, Jeff (Joan E.) Salow of Manchester, June (Jesse) Wooten of Earlville, Jim (Michelle) Salow of Earlville, Joel (Kim) Salow of Walker, Jay (Nicole) Salow of Manchester and Justin (Kelli) Salow of Robins; along with 20 nieces and nephews and 9 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rose Salow; and brother, John.
