Joanne Mihocko Obituary

Joanne H. Mihocko nee Janina Honora Konczyk, 81, of Hyde Park, left this Earth for the beautiful realm of Heaven on October 17, 2025.
Born, March 8, 1944, in Altgarmsiel Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wojciech (John) and Leokadia (Lydia) Konczyk.
Joanne was a 1962 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School.
On January 18, 1964, Joanne married Paul A. Mihocko, together they spent over 60 years as husband and wife. Mr. Mihocko survives at home.
Joanne dabbled as a Swimsuit Model at Woolworth's Department Store, enjoyed being a dental hygienist and then took on the hardest job of all- raising four children!
The neighborhood kids were often found at the Mihocko House at all hours of the day and night! On Sunday's the neighborhood was charmed by the Polka Hour blaring on the outside speakers. She was proud of her Polish and Ukrainian roots.
She hosted and judged many "Olympic Games" poolside all while Neil Diamond was playing through the speakers. Truth be told, every child that graced her home knows every single Neil Diamond song by heart to this day! She had the pleasure of seeing Neil in concert multiple times.
She loved animals and flowers! Feeding the birds (even the geese until they took over) and loved taking power walks at Vanderbilt's or the Rail Trail. Walking and fresh air, no matter what the weather was like outside, gave her renewed energy where she felt she could tackle anything!
Joanne had a keen sense of style and attention to detail. She never once left the house unless she was perfectly coiffed. That meant hair and makeup were "magazine ready" and usually it meant a pair of heels (with stockings) even if she decided on jeans. She took great pleasure in ensuring her house was comfortable yet stylish and chic.
Along with her husband, JoAnne is survived by her children Jennifer Mihocko-Tierney and husband Rick Tierney, Paul Mihocko and Partner Barbara Patsey, David Mihocko and wife Melissa Kuo Mihocko, Heather Mihocko and husband Craig Jasenski; five grandchildren, Andrew Mihocko, Brett Mihocko, Mia Mihocko, Tristan Mihocko and Ryan Mihocko. Joanne is also survived by her sister Mary Robards and nephews Richard Robards, Jason and (Kathleen) Robards and their children Jason and Lydia. She is also survived by her handsome cat Midnight, affectionately known as "Big Boy".
A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 25, 2025, from 12:30PM-3:30PM at the Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park. 25 Old Vineyard Place.
