John Vincent Cyboran, 63, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, passed surrounded by his family in his home on November 7, 2025. John was a follower of Jesus and had faith in His saving power until the end. He spent his final days saying, "I'm ready to go home, like, yesterday!" In the words of his grandson, Elias, "He went to live with Jesus."
John's passions included their vacation rental, which he spent countless hours grooming, detailing, and perfecting. A private celebration of John's life will be held there, at The Gambrel Guesthouse on November 19.
John was born on June 12, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois to his parents, John T. and Phyllis (Sharapata) Cyboran. He received his bachelor's degree at University of Illinois after attending high school in Palatine, Illinois. John's career path began in his young adult years as a touring professional golfer. He then spent a number of years as a bell captain at a luxury golf resort in Florida, followed by several years in the sales field, concluding as a self-employed business owner. His hobbies included golfing, landscaping and land management, managing The Gambrel Guesthouse, taking nature walks, and creating the perfect pizza.
John is survived by his wife, Claudia, his children, Brianne and Forrest Dostaler, Chad and Rachel Cyboran, Zachary and Jenna Cyboran, Brooke Cyboran, Bridgette and Connor Zelin, and Britt Cyboran, and his grandchildren, Jonathon, Gabriel, Adam, Clifton, Esther, Elijah, Johanna, Daniel, Elias, Ruth, Micah, and Keziah.
He is predeceased by his father, John T. Cyboran and his sister, Ann Cheatham.
John's family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing team at Aspirus Riverview Hospital's oncology center, the staff at St. Croix Hospice, and to all of their friends and family who have shown their support. They appreciate the love and kindness during this time
