John (PJ) Fuoss, age 56, of Sioux Center, Iowa, was called home to the Lord, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in Sioux Center, Iowa

Services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist church in Orange City, Iowa with the funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. A light lunch will be served following the funeral at the church. Interment will take place at a later date in Milltown, South Dakota.

John Frederick Fuoss was born on January 8, 1969, in Mitchell, South Dakota to John and Connie Fuoss (Krier). John was the second born of six children (Frederick, Glenn, Gene, Mary and Edward). John grew up on the family farm near Milltown surrounded by beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Graduating from Parkston High School in 1988, John chose to attend Mitchell Technical Institute (MTI) to further his education.

While attending MTI he met and fell in love with his wife Elaine (Bogenhagen) Fuoss. The two were joined in marriage on April 13, 1991. Soon after marriage, John and Elaine moved to Sioux Center, Iowa where their family grew as they were blessed with two children Tiffiny and Randy.

Family was the cornerstone of John’s life. He and Elaine enjoyed the quiet times of just being together and sharing each other’s lives. He was most proud of his children and never missed a chance to brag about their accomplishments. He enjoyed spending time with his children, from watching a movie with Tiffiny to teaching Randy how to farm, being with them was his pride and joy. In December of 2023, grandson Huxley was born, which opened another chapter of love for John.

Professionally, John owned and operated Fuoss Repair and Salvage in Sioux Center, and Fuoss Farm near Parkston, S.D. John never backed away from hard work.

His favorite hobby was his beloved Corvettes. He and his family would often take the Corvettes and go to car shows across the region.

In the summer of 2024, John was diagnosed with cancer. He didn’t let the cancer slow him down continuing to work and finishing his harvest.

John was proceeded in death by his parents John and Connie Fuoss and his brother Frederick.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine (Bogenhagen) Fuoss; daughter, Tiffiny Gustafson (Christian), Omaha, Neb.; son, Randy Fuoss (Kalie DeBoer), Parkston, S.D.; grandson, Huxley Gustafson; brothers: Glenn (Shauna) Fuoss, Milltown, S.D.; Gene Fuoss, Parkston, S.D.; Edward (Celeste) Fuoss, Carriere, Mississippi; sister: Mary Fuoss, Mitchell, S.D.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

John will be greatly missed.
