John C. (Jack) Junk peacefully passed away at the ripe old age of 91 on August 5th, 2025. He was born July 25th, 1934, in Salt Lake to Harold and Catherine Carney Junk.
Jack graduated from Ogden High School in 1953. He proudly served in the Korean War years in the U.S. Army. He attended Weber College and the University of Utah obtaining a degree in Economics.
Jack and his wife Maryanne Maero were the parents of Thomas Junk and Kathryn Junk (Woodard) Preston who were as proud of him as he was of them. They were later divorced.
Among the careers he loved were as a computer programmer for HAFB, a Senior Residential Real Estate appraiser in Utah and a licensed General appraiser in Nevada.
Jack was a competitor and won a number of golf, chess and pool trophies. He loved joking and making us laugh. He always had a prank or spoof ready.
His marriage to Jolene Roylance brought him a new family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that loved him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, children, sister, Geraldine Junk and was preceded in death by his parents.
We wish to thank all the staff at George Wahlen Veterans Home for their dedicated care, seeing to his every need for almost 3 years. We also wish to thank Bristol Hospice & Chaplain Shayla Wilder.
Graveside services will be held on the northwest corner of Ben Lomond, North Ogden cemetery on Monday, August 25th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to an Animal Shelter.
