John Wayne Lesniak of Niles, Michigan, born on February 25, 1947, in Dowagiac, MI, USA, passed away on April 6, 2024. John's life was defined by his adventurous spirit, thoughtful nature, supportive character, and humorous charm. Retired from Ameritech Services in 2005 after a dedicated career as a Cable Cutter, John was a hardworking man who deeply cared for his family. He loved his hobbies, which included bowling, scrapping, coaching, fishing, and hunting. He brought joy and camaraderie to the American Legion. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he served at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church.
John's unwavering love for his family was at the heart of his life. Married to Carol Lesniak on June 6, 1992, they created a life filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Paul Lesniak, Lori Lesniak, David (Cheryl) Curry, Jeff (Debbie) Davis, and Danny (Traza) Dilling; and his grandchildren, Ayana Lesniak, Ashley Lesniak, and Loryana Harris. John was also the proud brother of Herb (Pam) Lesniak, Joe Lesniak, and Dorothy Ottman; and the loving uncle of Rick Lesniak and Brent Lesniak. His life was enriched by several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dear friends Jane Lesniak and Vernon Cain.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nina Lesniak; his brothers, Bill and Robert Lesniak; his uncle, Lawrence Starrett; and his grandmother, Rosanna Starrett. As we remember John, we are reminded of the biblical verse, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." (John 14:1). This verse was a source of comfort and guidance to John and is a testament to his enduring faith.
In remembering John Lesniak's life, we encourage friends and loved ones to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will forever resonate in our hearts.
