In Loving Memory of John Thomas (Tom) Moran who passed away peacefully at home August 10, 2025 in Orange City, Florida at the age of 80. Tom was born April 13, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from St Charles Elementary School, St Ignatius High School and then from the University of Detroit in 1968. Tom began his professional engineering career in 1968 at IBM designing digital signal processing systems for submarine sonar. IBM Federal Systems was later acquired by Loral Corporation and then by Lockheed Martin. Over a 26 year tenure, he held various engineering leadership and management roles across several locations, including Owego, New York; Manassas, Virginia; Newport and Portsmouth, Rhode Island; Syracuse, New York; and Clifton, Virginia. In 1993, Tom moved his family to Geneva, Florida where he became chief engineer for Close Combat Tactical Trainer. He continued his work in ground training simulation systems as an architect until his retirement.

Tom is predeceased by both parents Marcella Elizabeth and John William Moran. He is survived by wife Deanne Maureen Moran, whom he married on September 21, 1968 in Johnson City, New York; sister Mary Beth (Richard Steven Johnson); brother James Richard Moran (Jean Marie); several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Family hosted Celebration of Life will be held August 29, 2025, 11:00am at San Pedro Spiritual Center, 95 Bishop Grady Lane, Winter Park, Florida 32792.
