John Rhine Williams

John Rhine Williams, 70, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Bethalto, IL passed away, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in Hagerstown, MD.
Born Monday, February 8, 1954, in Wood River, IL, he was the son of the late Bernard W. Williams and the late Ruby Opal (Smith) Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda K. Williams.
John graduated from Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, IL in 1972. He was employed at Olin Mathisson Company as a security guard for 25 years. John was a member of AARP, but his great love was hunting, fishing, working in carpentry and wood crafts.
He is survived by his son, John R. Williams, Jr.and wife Jeanette, granddaughter Brittany Williams, sisters, Ellalouise Ewayna Balfour and husband Robert, Lois Anna Jones, Pamela Lynn Williams, Shirley Renee Lopez and husband John and Sheila Rae Modlin, brothers, Omer Phillip Williams, Homer Ralph Williams.
He was also preceded in death by a brother James Thomas Williams and a niece, Debra Rae Hettick.
Services will be held Friday, September 13, 2024, at 6:30 PM, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with Deacon Greg Bowen and James Martin officiating, with a receiving of friends from 5:00 PM to 6:30PM prior to the service.
Graveside services will be at Rose Memory Gardens, Bethalto, IL on Tuesday September 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM with a receiving of friends at the Elia, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home 727 E. Bethalto, Blvd. Bethalto, IL from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or donations can be made in memory of John c/o Ewayna Balfour 18141 Maugans Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
