Jon S. DeGeorge

Jon Sebastian DeGeorge of Foxboro passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, surrounded by his family. Jon was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Pickard) DeGeorge of Newton Center. Jon leaves behind his loving wife Catherine (Anthony) DeGeorge of 46 years. He also leaves his son Ethan and his wife Tonya of Suwanee, Georgia and his son Matthew and his wife Julianne of Plainville. Grampy will also be missed by his three grandchildren, Owen, Avery and Sophie DeGeorge. Jon is also survived by his sister Dianne of Portsmouth, NH, his brother Michael of Montpelier, VT, sister Jane of Franklin, and sister Lisa of Enfield, NH. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward, Gerald, David and Peter. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jon was born on March 8, 1948, in Newton and raised in Newton Center. He was a graduate of Newton North High school and received a bachelor's degree from Boston State University in English, and a master's degree from Bridgewater State College in Teaching as well as a certification in Special Education. Once moving to Foxboro in 1983, Jon owned his own carpentry business, followed by many years of teaching middle and high school English. He coached youth sports in Foxboro for many years and enjoyed watching Boston sports team. Jon was very worldly and knowledgeable of history and literature. He loved reading, mostly short stories, and prided himself on completing War & Peace. Jon also enjoyed playing board games, Bingo and Left, Right, Center. He enjoyed vacations to his family beach house in Seabrook Beach, NH and Martha's Vineyard. Jon will surely be remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on April 22 from 4 to 7 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service for Jon will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church on 58 Carpenter St. in Foxboro.
