Jordan was born August 5, 1993, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Dock Lewis Emery II and Shannon Patricia Wineland. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 2011. Jordan enjoyed gaming, anime (especially One Piece and Pokémon), and playing Pokémon Go. He loved listening to music and had a vast collection of Mickey Mouse. Jordan also loved the thrill of riding roller coasters, especially at Cedar Point.
Jordan is survived by his mom, Shannon (Lance) Olson of Maxwell; his dad, Dock Lewis Emery II of Knoxville; his half-brother, Dock Lewis Emery III; his maternal grandparents, Richard (Kelly) Wineland of Des Moines and Beatrice (Ron) Hensel of Montezuma; his beloved cat, Luna, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dock Lewis Emery I and Ellen Emery.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (422 First Street) in Maxwell. As a reminder, the 210 interchange from I-35 is closed in both directions. You will need to use the Elkhart exit if you're coming from the south or the Highway 30 exit if you come from the north to get to Maxwell.
Memorials may be made to the family and a charity will be selected that focuses on mental health and suicide prevention.
