He is also survived by several loved nieces and nephews, including: Joe Caggiano and wife Keri and their children of Tyngsboro, MA, the late Steven Caggiano and wife Deborah and their children of Tyngsboro, MA ; and his niece Heidi (Caggiano) Merricks and husband Troy and their children of Tyngsboro, MA. Additionally, he is also survived by several other caring nieces and nephews as well as his so loved friends: Kevin Kincman of Tyngsboro, MA, Dick Balboni of Rockland, MA and the late Jack Pedro of Tennessee.
In addition to his own family Joe loved his extended family; Brian Woolard and wife Dawn Scarzella and their children Jaiden and Skye of Florida; Jeffrey Woolard and wife Vera and their children Madyson and Brady of North Carolina; and Tricia Woolard and husband Scott Yavarow and their children, James, Cooper and Mason of Pelham, NH.
After graduating from high school, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for three years in Korea as a military policeman. Following his honorable discharge, he worked as a welder before going on to own and manage his own air conditioning and heating business. Later, he became an automotive mechanic, a role he held for many years. Joe became a familiar face in Westford, MA, where people still remember him working at the Citgo Gas Station alongside his brother Steve and nephew Joe. Never one to slow down, Joe refused to retire and continued working at his nephews car business, Modern Auto Sales, until he eventually decided to step away at 80 years of age. He looked back on those final working years with genuine happiness, mostly attributed to his time spent with his nephew.
Joe was a devoted, hardworking man who cherished his family, friends, and every moment of life. Determined to live to 100, he faced numerous health challengesincluding multiple surgeries, aneurysms, a heart attack, and cardiac arrestwith unwavering strength and resilience.
He had a passion for motorcycles, cars, golf, long walks, travel, and trips to the casinoespecially in Las Vegas. Joe had a gift for connecting with people. There was never a store, restaurant, or venue that Joe surprisingly did not already know someone or become fast friends with the once stranger that crossed his path. His genuine spirit was so memorable that nurses often requested to have him as a patient.
Joe deeply valued the love of his family, extended family, and close friends. Nowhere was his devotion more evident than in the care and affection he showed Beverly each and every day. His unwavering commitment to her was a beautiful reflection of his character. Joe was endlessly proud of his children and offered unconditional love and support as they each followed their own paths in life. His legacy of steadfast resilience, warmth, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
