Joseph O. Eisenhauer

Joseph O. Eisenhauer, affectionately known as "Joe", passed away suddenly, unexpectedly and very peacefully on December 31, 2023, in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joe was 64 years old. Born on March 30, 1959, in Milwaukee, Joe led a remarkable life filled with passion, determination, and a commitment to serving his country and community.

Joe's journey began at South Milwaukee High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1977. He then pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, where he not only focused on his academics but also participated actively in gymnastics. Joe's passion for gymnastics blossomed during his time as a member of the Milwaukee Turners Gymnastics Club. He later transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson and successfully earned a Bachelor's degree.

After completing his education, Joe embarked on a military career that exemplified his dedication and unyielding spirit. For ten years, he served our country as an Airborne Ranger and Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. During his time in the military, Joe attended a prestigious language school in California. There he honed his skills as a foreign language analyst and translator, becoming fluent in Spanish. His commitment to excellence earned him respect and admiration from both colleagues and superiors.

Following his military service, Joe underwent a remarkable reinvention and delved into the field of Cyber Security. He embraced new opportunities for personal growth by furthering his education and acquiring additional knowledge in this rapidly evolving field. Continuing to contribute to the betterment of our nation, Joe dedicated himself to serving at the VA in Milwaukee as a public servant affiliated with the government until his retirement in the fall of 2021.

Joe will be remembered as someone who held himself to incredibly high standards in every aspect of life. His exemplary character left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. A loving son and brother, Joe was preceded in death by his older sister Susan and his father, Wesley Eisenhauer. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family, including his mother Dorothy, his brothers James, Timothy, Matthew, John, Clinton, Andrew Eisenhauer, and his sister Patricia Bolter.

Outside of work and military service, Joe had a range of hobbies and interests that delighted him. Living near the Brewers Stadium for several decades allowed him to indulge in one of his greatest passions - baseball. As a devoted Milwaukee Brewers fan and season ticket holder, he relished every moment spent cheering for his favorite team. Joe even had the privilege of meeting Paul Molitor, a legendary Brewer player whom he deeply admired.

In addition to baseball, Joe enjoyed exploring antique malls, museums, and engaging with intellectual pursuits that enriched his life. His curiosity knew no bounds as he embraced artistic and historical treasures wherever he encountered them.

Joseph O. Eisenhauer was an exceptional individual who left an enduring legacy through his unwavering commitment to serving our country and his unwavering dedication to personal growth. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories shared with Joe and find solace in the knowledge that he lived a life far from average. Joseph's perseverance serves as an inspiration to us all as we bid farewell to a remarkable soul who made the world a better place simply by being in it.

Joe's wishes were to not have a public funeral for himself.  He will be laid to rest at the Holy Sepulcher  Cemetery in Cudahy Wisconsin near his sister and father.
