Josephine Meese, 92, of New Philadelphia, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital under hospice care on June 7, 2024.
Born in New Philadelphia on February 7, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rosina M. (Turrin) Gladstone.
Josephine retired in the late 1980s from Union Hospital where she was a custodian. Her memberships included the New Philadelphia Moose and Dover Eagles.
Josephine is survived by her children including Patricia (John) McCreery of Gnadenhutten, Rose Jones of Wooster, Joseph “Jack” (Terri) Jones of Brightwood, and Della (Tom) Wiley of Dover; her grandchildren, Michele (Bob) Starkey, Thomas (Persephone) McCreery, Joel Jones, Leslie (Danny) Bowyer, and Corey Jones; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 niece and 3 nephews.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her siblings, Della Morris, Charles Gladstone, Harold (Selva) Gladstone and Clarence Gladstone.
Private burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
