Joshua DeWayne Price

Joshua DeWayne Price, 34, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Josh was born November 21, 1990, in Muncie, the son of John and Kathleen (McKee) Price. Josh graduated from Wapahani High School in 2009, studied Environmental Engineering at Purdue University, and held professional certifications in Information Technology.
His compassion and brilliance, along with his passion for helping others, were foundational to Josh's success throughout his IT career.
Josh had a deep love for his community and developed lasting friendships in every chapter of his life. He grounded himself with hiking and cooking, and from his friends he inherited a love for camping and rock climbing. His ideal weekend was camping with a gaggle of climbing buddies, then waking up early to hike with Sandra to the crag du jour.
Josh was a longtime fan of the novel The Slow Regard of Silent Things within the Kingkiller Chronicles and the book series The Expanse. He was drawn to the characters in these stories and appreciated both series for their expansive worldbuilding and attention to relatable human struggles. Josh's beautiful imagination brought him into the creative worlds of fantasy and science fiction novels, anime series, board games, and video games. Josh's family and friends cherish memories and connections that were forged over Mushi-shi, Spirit Island, Minecraft, and AwesomeNauts.
He is survived by his parents, John and Kathleen Price; maternal grandmother, Judith
McKee; life partner, Sandra McPherson; siblings, Aaron (Liz) Price, Joel Price, and Leah
(Matthew) Overmyer; three nieces, Payton, Clementine, and Felicity; his four-legged kiddos, Lady and Ramona; several aunts and uncles, and many, many friends. Josh's heart lives on in the chest of a teenage boy whose life he saved via organ donation.
Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Larry D. McKee; paternal grandparents, Howard and Doris Price; and uncle, Tim Price.
