Joy Lynne Lang

Joy Lynne Lang, 81, passed from this earth on September 3, 2023. Joy was a longtime resident of Palo Pinto. She worked for Mineral Wells Independent School District for many years until she retired in 1993. Joy loved to sit and talk to anyone who would listen. She loved telling stories of the "old" days. Her favorite person to talk to was Kenneth Maddux (Brandi).
Joy married Larry Dale Lang on May 19, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. They spent many years together raising their boys and living a wonderful life until his death in 2009.
She is preceded in death by her husband Larry, her parents, her sister Barbra Smith, brother in laws Jack Teague and Alvin Smith, and sister- in- law Iris Hall.
Joy leaves behind to remember her stories two sons Larry Lang Jr. (Brenda) and Johnny Lang (Chelsa), grandchildren Danielle Lang (Amelia), Zachary, Jesse, Mason, and Trinity Thigpen, great grandchild Christopher(frog) Thigpen and adopted granddaughters Ashley and Haley Stephenson, Haylee Prentice, and Stacey Allen and her kids. There were also many others who called her Mom or Grannie.
Visitation is September 8, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at Baum- Carlock- Bumgardner Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Rock Creek Cemetery.
