Joy McQueen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowser Family Funeral Home - Mena on Feb. 7, 2022.
Joy Bennett McQueen passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 in Mena, Arkansas, just two days before her 87th birthday. She was born on February 3, 1935 in New Orleans, Louisiana to James Bennett and Francis Broome Bennett.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Cypress Baptist Church (Lagniappe Hall) in Benton, Louisiana. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Joy's special friend, Pastor Tommy Patton at 2:00 PM.
Joy's wish was to be cremated with her ashes scattered at the Ouachita Mountain cabin that she loved.
Joy was completely devoted to her husband, Henry, for 32 years, until his death in 2008. Preceding her in death were her son, James Berryman and step son, Harold McQueen and brother James Bennett Jr.. Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Crain and husband, Jeff, step daughter, Lisa Rogers and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Chastain Chamberlain and husband, Adam, Chase Hardesty and wife, Margie and Ashford McQueen and wife, Khristen; sister, Joan Bennett Tyler; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her very much.
Joy was a certified property manager in Shreveport for 25 years. She was a member of the Republican Women of Bossier City.
Joy loved to play Wordscapes and dominoes, winning way too often. She also loved watching the deer and turkeys roaming outside her window. But her favorite hobby was reading. Especially, sitting in her rocking chair by the fire on her cabin deck. She called it "Paradise."
However it is written; no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
