Joy Meyer, 65, of Hamilton Township, passed peacefully on August 9th, 2024. Joy was surrounded by friends, family and her loving husband of 30 years, Tom Meyer.
Perfectly named, JOY was born on February 22, 1959 in Elizabeth, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Larry and Veronica (Pavelko) Spanjersberg. Since childhood, Joy was celebrated for her larger than life, fun loving and bold personality as well as her radiant smile.
Joy moved to Monroe County PA in 1987 where she built a name and community for herself working in Stroudsburg as a hairstylist and one time co-owner of Jade Hair Salon.
In her retirement, Joy could be found working in her garden and around her property, enjoying her grandchildren, skiing and planning camping vacations with her husband. She was also actively involved in the Monroe County Bee Keeping association.
In addition to her husband, surviving are two daughters, Amy Kelly and husband Adam of Solon, OH, Allison Hess Bryson and husband Billy Bryson of Stroudsburg; three grandchildren, Kensington Hess, Grace Kelly and Luke Kelly. Joy had a large family who she shared and celebrated life's moments with as well as devoted friends whom she shared her hobbies and travels with.
Joy's life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 24th beginning at 2pm in the Lighthouse building at Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, 419 Bossardsville Road, Stroudsburg. The family requests a JOYFUL celebration and invites friends and family to share and speak their memories of Joy.
