St. Martinville, Louisiana- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 20, 2025 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church honoring the life of Jules Dore', 89, who passed away on October 17, 2025 at his residence.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
A rosary will be prayed by Elaine Dore' and Amanda Darby at 6:30 PM on Sunday with a Eulogy read by granddaughters, Lauren Woolsey and Alayna Dore.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Elaine Dore' and Chelsea Kidd.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum.
Jules was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born on December 11, 1935, in Saint Martinville, Louisiana, where he lived most of his life, embodying the spirit of his community and the warmth of his family.
He was proud of his roots and maintained a simple yet fulfilling life, finding peace and joy in his yard, where he spent countless hours tending to its beauty. An avid lover of the outdoors and his car. Jules took great pride in keeping his car spotless, often wiping it down with care. He found joy in the little things, which reflected his deep appreciation for life.
Above all, Jules cherished his family, and they were the cornerstone of his existence. His unwavering love and dedication to his children were evident in every aspect of his life. He instilled in them the values of hard work and compassion, always putting family first, for that was of utmost importance to him. He will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his children, Darren Dore' (Cathy), Charles Dore' (Elaine), Clayton Dore' (Linda), and Brian Dore' (Wendy), 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Nolan Dore' (Geraldine), Ernest Dore' (Karen), Rita Dore', and Ameline Romero (Harold).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna "Ella" Mae Schexnayder Dore'; parents, Paul Dore', Sr. and Leona Albert Dore'; daughter, Leona Dore' and; son in law, Brady Hebert; great granddaughter, Emberly Dore'; sister, Loula Dore'; and brother, Paul Dore', Jr. (Gracie).
Pallbearers will be his grandsons Coby Dore', Chase Dore', Caleb Dore', Casey Dore', Chandler Dore', Jacob Dore', and Hunter Dore'.
Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Woolsey, Benjamin Bost, and Ian Kidd.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to STAT Home Health, St. Joseph Hospice, Angelle McConnell, Mary Lewis and Lacie Bourque for the exceptional care given to Jules.
Donations may be made in his honor to St. Joseph Hospice.
