Juliette Naomi Finney, a beacon of love was born on February 23, 1984, in Rockingham County. She went home to be with her family and her Lord, on March 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy rich with compassion and artistic spirit.
A memorial service will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Wednesday, March, 5th at 3:00PM with Pastor Russell McKinney officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
Juliette dedicated her professional life to enhancing the well-being of others. She worked at Annie Penn Hospital's Department 300, where her caring nature shined brightly through her daily interactions with patients and colleagues. Alongside her hospital career, she also pursued her passion for art by founding Creative Art Creations LLC, through which she shared her talents and fostered creativity in others. A gifted writer, she wrote books and poems that were published online, expressing her heart and soul for the world to see.
Educationally, Juliette was an inspiration. She proudly completed her CNA courses alongside her beloved daughter, showcasing her commitment to both family and personal growth. Although she was just one class away from receiving her bachelor’s degree at Liberty University, her accomplishments, particularly those shared with her daughter, enriched her life immeasurably.
Known for her immense love and caring personality, Juliette was fiercely devoted to her family. She leaves behind her husband of 28 years, James Merrell, their love story was filled with cherished memories and shared adventures, which they passed on to their children. Juliette's legacy lives on through her daughter, Juliana (Robert Pait), and her son, Jacob Merrell, both of whom carry her wisdom and kindness in their hearts and actions.
The family she built extended far beyond the immediate household. Juliette is lovingly remembered by her sisters; Christy Finney (Ann Jarvis), Heather Swanson, Ashley Swink, Samantha Thompson, and Danielle Dietrich, and her brother; Charles Swink. Her parents, Coleman Lee Finney and Julie Naomi Finney, were sources of unwavering support, and her extended family and friends felt the warmth of her spirit.
Juliette cherished life fully, often seeking adventures that took her to the beach, the zoo, and Cherokee, where her joy was infectious. She found beauty in every moment. She loved her children and husband dearly.
She is preceded in death by her stepmother; Dana Finney, her grandparents, and her cousin; Ashley Finney. While she leaves behind an irreplaceable void, the love and memories she created will forever be a source of comfort and strength for all who knew her.
Juliette Naomi Finney will always be remembered as a loving mother, a dedicated professional, and a vibrant spirit whose creative light will continue to illuminate the paths of those she touched.
