Karen Ann Vance, born on March 6, 1960, in Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Handy as a pocket on a shirt and twice as dependable, she never met a project she couldn't tackle or a person she wouldn't help. She left behind a world a little sturdier and a lot more colorful.
Karen had a warm-hearted demeanor and a genuine love for life. She was a devoted pet owner, cherished her dogs Ivan Vance and Gracie Little, both of whom preceded her in death. Karen found joy in simple pleasures, including fishing, riding her Harley motorcycles, and passionately supporting the University of Louisville sports teams, where she was known as a true enthusiast cheering for the Cards.
In her personal life, Karen is remembered for her close bonds with family and friends. She is survived by her loving partner, Deborah Rene Bynum; mother, Betsy Adams Deaton; sister, Teresa Ballinger (Jim); niece, Jamie Ballinger; aunt, Patsy Humphrey (Bill); stepsiblings, Joey, Kevin, Billy, Leslie, and Debbie; godchildren, Alex, Addie, and Benny; along with many dearly beloved cousins and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, William Elbert Vance; stepfather, Ralph Deaton; brother, Barry Elbert Vance; and stepbrother, Steve Turner.
Karen had a fulfilling career at Deaton Painting. Her dedication and hard work left lasting impressions on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her. A graduate of Hart County High School, Karen pursued further education at Western Kentucky University.
A visitation in honor of Karen Ann Vance will be held on November 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272.
Karen's spirit, vibrant personality, and unwavering strength will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her life remains a testament to resilience, love, and the importance of family and friends.
