Kathy is survived by her husband of 43 years Merv Rexroat; two daughters Sarah Beth (Eric) Flaker and Amy (DJ) Haney; three grandchildren Luke Flaker, Lily Haney, Dempson Haney; mother Geneva (Davis) McWhirter; brothers Steve (Beth) McWhirter, and Jim (Pat) McWhirter. Kathleen was preceded in death by her father Rodger McWhirter.
Kathy graduated from Iowa State University and worked in retail. Her greatest challenge and privilege was being able to home-school her daughters. She also tutored and directed at Dyslexia Reading Solutions for 14 years.

Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at 12pm on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Linge officiating.
A live stream will be available beginning 20 minutes prior to services.

Kathy was a wonderful friend I made in high school in Burlington, Iowa. She had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and a best friend. She led me to the Lord and I hold her in my heart.
