Kathryn (Kathi) Elizabeth Ball was called home the morning of August 21, 2025, following a short illness at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital.
Kathi was born May 7, 1948, in Superior, Wisconsin to Tom and Mary Lou Johnson. She was the oldest of 3 children, one who has preceded her in death. Kathi attended grade school at St. Mary's- Elm Grove and High School at Divine Savior. She then received her RN from MATC.
Growing up, she was blessed to spend many summers in Ashland, WI – where her parents were both from - with her grandmothers.
Kathi met her soulmate, Bob Ball, at a CYO dance at St. Mary's - Elm Grove on November 30, 1962. The two were married August 19, 1965, and had 2 children, Annie and David, who they raised in the Western suburbs of Milwaukee. Both children went on to marry and collectively produce 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Kathi was an amazing Nana to all of them.
Kathi was very involved socially. Some of her activities included being the Captain of a women's tennis team at Westmoor CC. She was also involved with fund raising efforts for the Florentine Opera and Women for MAC.
Next to her family, Kathi was most passionate about her animals – especially her dogs and horses. She had begun riding at age 7 and left 2 horses in her passing. This lifelong passion was her self-proclaimed therapy. She always said that they gave her more than she gave them.
Kathi was a woman of great faith. She was kind, loving and very generous. She loved and was truly loved by so many. "To know her was to love her". Kathi made the world a better place by being in it and she will be sorely missed; but we have peace and confidence that she basks in the glory of God evermore.
Visitation Friday, September 19 at ST. MARY'S VISITATION CATHOLIC CHURCH 1260 Church St., Elm Grove from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Kathi's name, to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Tunnel to Towers (t2t.org). Blessings and thank you.
