Kathryn "Kathy" Eubanks, née Marmino, 93, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on March 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Wood River, Illinois on December 15, 1930 to Rosolino and Rosaria (Sarah) Mormino and was the sixth of 7 children. She graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School in 1949 and retired from the telephone industry in 1991. In 1963 Kathy married Dwight Eubanks and they had three children: Dana, Thomas, and Kelly. After the death of her husband Dwight, Kathy settled in Ballwin, Missouri and devoted herself to her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Rosolino and Sarah Mormino, her husband Dwight Eubanks, her son Tom Eubanks, and her siblings.
She is survived by her daughters Dana (Tim) Bernstetter and Kelly (Joseph) Taylor, her daughter-in-law Carrie Eubanks, her grandchildren Jessica (Wes) Totsch, Sarah (Jack) Caffrey, Jacob (Kiana) Engel, Katie (Ryan) Bainbridge, Hannah Engel, Megan Bernstetter, Lukas (Seny) Engel, and Isabellah Engel as well as her great-grandchildren Louis and Charlotte Caffrey, Ezekiel Engel, and Sharky Engel.
Despite a 12-year battle with Alzheimer's, Kathy was able to remain in the care of her loved ones thanks to the tireless efforts of her daughters Dana and Kelly, and the support of their families. She enjoyed nothing more than dessert, preferably pie, and sitting outside to enjoy nice weather with a cup of coffee in hand. She will forever be remembered and cherished by her family for her loving kindness, witty banter, generosity of spirit and dedication to her family.
We will keep her memory close to our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Charles. Kathy will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery in O'Fallon.
Memorial donations are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater St. Louis.
