Kathy Leann Openshaw, 60, passed away September 9, 2023. Kathy resided in Liberty Hill where she and her beloved husband Stephen Openshaw, the love of her life, made their home. Kathy was born on August 13, 1963 in Burnet, Texas.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Brenda Hall.
She is survived by her loving husband. As well as her sister Kimberly Dickerson and husband Brad, her nieces Brittany Netek and Madison Dickerson and nephew Tanner Dickerson, her great niece Leah Bradley and great nephew Elliot Dickerson, her daughter Kelsie Colon-Pena and husband Ruben, and her grandchildren.
She was a longtime educator with a heart for helping children. She also expressed her joy for helping people by working in hospitality and travel at a hotel, restaurant, and travel agency.
She had a passion for the outdoors. She adored nature, especially the ocean and always looked forward to her trips there with family and friends.
She had an unmatched beautiful, open, creative, loving heart. She put that love into music by going to concerts regularly, movies by attending shows with her husband, cooking and baking by putting love into every meal and treat she made, and her plants by constantly looking after them.
She especially channeled that love into the people that meant the most, her family, her friends, and her dog Gilda. She was the most caring and nurturing person. She spread joy and kindness to all that she came in contact with. Her spirit will live on forever and always in all that knew her.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday September 23rd at 10:00 AM at
223 Snyders Trail
Liberty Hill, Tx 78642
