January 25, 1956 - January 17, 2024
Keith M. Kerwin, 67, of Lansing, MI, passed away on January 17, 2024, of natural causes. He was born January 25, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY, to John Kerwin and the late Marguerite B. (Peggy) Kerwin. He lived much of his childhood in North Tonawanda, NY, and attended North Tonawanda High School.
He lived the last 50 years in Michigan.
He graduated from Waterford Mott High School, received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan, a bachelor's degree in computer science from Oakland University, and a law degree from Wayne State University.
Mr. Kerwin practiced law for several decades. He also worked as a software engineer for IBM.
Mr. Kerwin was predeceased by his mother, Marguerite B. (Peggy) Kerwin. He is survived by his father and stepmother, John and Barbara Kerwin of University Park, FL; a son, Christopher Kerwin of Grand Blanc, MI; a daughter, Julia Kerwin, M.D., of Shelby Township, MI; a stepson, Michael Dowsett of Mount Morris MI; a sister, Jacquelynn Kerwin, of Union City, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, Kevin Kerwin and Rebecca Hogarth of South Lyon, MI, and a nephew, Preston Kerwin-Battaglia of Union City, NJ.
Services will be private. Mr. Kerwin's final resting place will be All Saints Cemetery, 4401 Nelsey Road, Waterford, MI. Condolences may be made online at www.palmerbush.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Kerwin's name to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (or "NINDS"), P.O. Box 5801, Bethesda, MD 20824.
