Kenneth L. Cook, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, at the age of 72. Born on November 1, 1952, in Milford, Massachusetts, Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Loren H. Cook and Silvia L. (Barrows) Cook Knight.
Kenneth's life was one marked by devotion to his family and a strong work ethic. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1971 and went on to establish a successful career as the owner and operator of Cook's Roofing in Bellingham for many years. His professional dedication was only surpassed by his commitment to his family and community.
He leaves behind his loving wife of many years, Debra A. (Ingersoll) Cook, who was his partner in life and love. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter. Kenneth was a proud father to his daughters, Jessica L. Desrosiers of Woonsocket, RI, and Meghan E. Laquerre and her husband Tate of Bellingham. He was a devoted brother to Brian W. Cook and his wife Corrine of Bellingham. His role as a grandfather to Eric Desrosiers, Jr. and Dylan Desrosiers was one of his greatest joys, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Kenneth's family circle extended to many aunts, an uncle, and many nieces, and nephews, all of whom felt his love and kindness. He was predeceased by his sister, Sheryl-Ann Cook, whose memory he held close to his heart.
Those who knew Kenneth will remember him as a man of faith and service. He was a former Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Bellingham and had attended Bay Community Church. His kindness and thoughtful nature were evident in all his interactions, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Kenneth's interests were a reflection of his love for life and family. He absolutely loved Jeeping and offroad adventures. He enjoyed camping and once orchestrated a last-minute road trip to Disney World, giving the family a few hours to prepare.
His dogs were a source of great happiness, and he was often seen sharing quiet moments with his beloved pets.
Kenneth's legacy is one of love and kindness. He was a man who valued the simple pleasures in life, such as time spent with his kids and the spontaneous adventures that brought a smile to everyone's face. His absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visiting hours will be Saturday November 23, 2024 from 9:30 – 11 AM in the Buma – Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Mac Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Rte. 140, Bellingham.
