Kenneth David Watson, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, at Frankfort Regional Hospital in Frankfort, Kentucky, at the age of 72. Born on September 11, 1952, in Richmond, Kentucky,
Kenneth lived a life full of dedication, passion, and love for his family and interests. Kenneth had diverse interests, from skiing down snowy slopes to engaging in spirited games of volleyball. Kenneth was also an avid gardener, nurturing vibrant tomato plants in his backyard, sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. His affection wasn't limited to only outdoor pursuits; he also cherished the companionship of cats, who found a loyal friend in him.
He obtained a bachelor's degree, which propelled him into a fulfilling career. Kenneth worked as a supervisor in the Division of Maintenance for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, retiring in 2007. Kenneth is survived by his dear daughter, Victoria Paige Watson of Stanford, Kentucky, whose heart cherishes the wisdom and warmth shared through the years. He also leaves his sister, Sandra Madden of North Carolina, along with several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who will deeply feel his absence. Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving parents, Harold Watson and Thelma (Smith) Watson, and his brother, Glenn Watson.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at the Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601. This gathering will be an opportunity to share memories and honor a life well-lived. In remembering Kenneth, we reflect on a man whose spirit was both gentle and vibrant, whose life touched many, and whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. Kenneth's memory will always remain in the hearts of all who loved him, a testament to a life fulfilled through love, kinship, and the simple joys of life.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in his honor the Franklin County Humane Society.

So many memories of fun times shared with Kenny in those formative years of the ski club. Not just the ski trips, that were too numerous to recall, but of all the club meetings, camping trips, derby parties, poker games, volleyball matches, and how can I ever forget the time we spent trying to salvage something from the school bus debacle. I will always cherish those times and the feeling we all shared that those times just might last forever...but alas
RIP my friend and thank you for the memories.

Kenny was always so much fun at ski club activities and trips. The most memorable, to me, was when he led a huge Conga line thru a bar in Aspen as The Champs played "Tequila" live. Even the fur coat and diamonds crowd joined in! So much fun. RIP Kenny

Kenny ran the Frankfort Ski Club for years. What a great group and he was at the center for a long time. It is such a shame to lose him. He will be missed. Rest well my brother!
