Kevin Thomas Clear

Kevin Thomas Clear was born to Dr. James J. Clear & Julie Malloy Clear on April 22, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio and passed away on February 22, 2025 at his home in Bonita Springs. He was from a large Irish Catholic family. Survived by sisters, Colleen Clear Aug (Daniel Aug), Marianne Clear Frey (Richard Frey), Sara Clear Hillgrove (James M. Hillgrove); and brohter, Joseph Clear (Karen Daugherty Clear). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, James T. Clear, Miriam Clear, and Rory T. Clear (Susan Ellerhorst Clear).
Kevin met one of his best friends, Joe Baker, when he attended Covedale kindergarten and remained life-long friends.
Kevin attended grade school at St. Antoninus, where he met another life-long best friend, Joe Finke. He attended Oak Hills High School, Diamond Oaks Trade School and the University of Cincinnati.
Kevin had a passion for hardware and machinery and decided on that career path, starting at Setco in Cincinnati. He relocated to Coral Springs, FL with his parents and brother Jim, where he started working at Ace Hardware in sales. After the passing of his father, the family moved to Melbourne, FL where he joined Home Depot in sales.
After the passing of his mother, Kevin and Jim moved to Bonita Springs to be near his sisters, Mimi, Marianne & Sara. He stayed with Home Depot and was promoted to manager. He ultimately retired from Home Depot. Kevin had a huge heart and had many more "best" friends. He was well loved by his neighbors at Fairway Dunes. He was "The Guy", helping his neighbors with their home improvement projects. He even wrote an article in the neighborhood newsletter, "Tool Tip" by Kevin. He lovingly cared for his neighbors, especially Bob & Joyce.
He also loved hanging out with his friends at the VFW, the Moose, and the American Legion Hall where he enjoyed socializing and playing the various card games.
By and large, Kevin's love and devotion to his family and his beloved pet Pumpkin was most important to him. His family cherished him. In addition to his siblings and their spouses, Kevin loved and was adored by his numerous nieces, Julie, Maggie and Erin; and nephews, Dan, Tim, Jim, Tom, James and Ryan.
Faith, Family, Friends & Country, that was the essence of Kevin. Kevin, you are and will continue to be tremendously missed, Bro!
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail So., Bonita Springs, FL 34134. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until the start of the service.
