Kevin Marth, age 60, of Hoffman Estates, IL, passed away from heart failure on August 28, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Kevin was born in Wisconsin Rapids on November 18, 1962, to Clarence and Patricia (Bloyd) Marth. Following his graduation from Nekoosa High School, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Additionally, he earned a master's degree from The Ohio State University and was awarded a PhD from Illinois Institute of Technology.
Kevin began his career working at Bell Labs/AT&T and later Motorola as a computer engineer. During this time, he traveled extensively for his work including St. Petersburg, Russia; Kyiv, Ukraine; Tel Aviv, Israel; London, England; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Stockholm, Sweden. Most recently, he worked at Redfin as a software engineer.
Kevin loved his family deeply and looked forward to holiday celebrations, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. For him, the highlight of these celebrations was rough housing with Levi and Chase and then teasing them that he was still stronger than them. After dinner he enjoyed crafting the perfect Old Fashioned with Tiffany. Another favorite pastime was driving the backroads of Wisconsin with his family and eventually stopping at an "old school" supper club for dinner. Kevin was a lifelong learner who loved reading and studying the history of World War II. He will be remembered for his sharp wit and dry sense of humor. Kevin also enjoyed traveling. As a young man, one of his favorite trips was to the Boundary Waters of Cananda with his uncle Charlie and cousins, David and Dan. More recently was an epic road trip to New Orleans and just a few weeks ago a family vacation to Door County. We will forever cherish those five days together and all the memories that were made.
Among those who will carry him in their hearts through this life are his mother, Patricia Marth; sister, Kim Marth; niece, Tiffany (Josh) Kienert; and great nephews, Levi and Chase. Additional survivors include Godfather, Charles King; Godchildren, Tiffany Kienert and Peggy Parfitt; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Departed loved ones waiting to greet Kevin in heaven include his father, Clarence Marth; grandparents, Charles and Ardella Bloyd and Louis and Emma Marth; and his Godmother, Shirley Gotz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kevin's family to be designated at a later date.

Please accept our condolences. Although I have not seen Kevin since graduation, I´ve always know him to be a good and honest man. I have no doubt he was a good and honest husband and father as well. God Bless you in this time of sorrow.
