Companion Funeral & Cremation Service - ChattanoogaLagatha June Lingerfelt Furgerson Curvin 81 of Chattanooga passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8th. June was a native of Fyffe, AL where she graduated from Fyffe High School and attended Jacksonville State University. She resided most of her adult life in Hixson, where she raised her four children.
She loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in various sports and activities. When she wasn't shuttling them from place to place, she enjoyed playing softball, water skiing and cooking. She loved spending time with her family and friends. June was a wonderful mother, nana to her grandchildren, aunt and friend. Some of our favorite memories include giant slumber parties with all the grandkids and treasure hunts in her backyard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Rastus "Rat" and Nelle Josphine Lingerfelt. Her brother, Laurel D. and sister-in-law, Sandra Lingerfelt. Her sons, Jonathan Daryl Furgerson and James David Curvin.
She is survived by her children, Marcia (Ted) Caldwell, Sonia (Chuck) Marsh and Jeff "Curveball" Curvin, all of Chattanooga. Grandchildren, Chase (Casey) Marsh, Chad Marsh, Justin, Kelsey and McKennah Curvin. Nephew, Don (Donna) Lingerfelt, her great nieces, Crystal (Ronald) Chambless and LaBranda (Zach) Geroge. Her best buddy, her loyal dog, Wheezy.
She was a special, kind-hearted person, who worked hard and loved fiercely!! She was quite a pistol and touched many lives in various ways and will be missed by all her family and friends.
The family would like to send a special thank you to all the ones who cared for her, Gabrielle and her staff at Gentle Hands, Hearth Hospice, the staff at Red Stone Estates, Erlanger East and Life Care of East Ridge.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8th from 4 - 6 at Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 7407 Bonny Oaks Drive Chattanooga, TN.
A service will be held at a later date in a private family ceremony where she will be laid to rest at Greens Chapel Baptist Church in Fyffe, AL.
