Larry G. Shoemaker, 82, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on October 27, 2024 at Whitestone Care Center in Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Sandy (Strunk) Shoemaker with whom he shared sixty one years of marriage.
Born on March 27, 1942 in Upper Mt. Bethel, Northampton County, he was a son of the late George and Dorothy (Lohman) Shoemaker in Upper Mt. Bethel, Northampton County. Larry was a 1961 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School and has been a resident of Monroe County for over sixty years. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam.
He retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot as a sheet metal worker after working there for over twenty years; and prior to that he worked at Tru-Matic and Banner Metals.
Larry enjoyed fishing at Hidden Lake and ice fishing in Gouldsboro, and also enjoyed watching country western tv shows. He was a past volunteer at the Lehman Township Halloween kids trail.
In addition to his wife, surviving are his daughter Margaret Muth and her husband Mike; his grandson Jacob of East Stroudsburg; his brother Blaine of Bangor; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
