Laurie Elizabeth Wills passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022 in Raleigh, NC. She was 55 years old.
She was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on April 5, 1966 to Gwendolyn and Lloyd Wills.
We will miss Laurie dearly and cherish the memories we have from the sweetness of her when she was our baby sister to the strong, courageous and loving person she grew to be.
Laurie loved meeting people and making new friends, the beach and dogs but most importantly her family.
She is survived by her sisters, Emily Wills of Clarkston, WA, Maria Wills Andersion (Hans) of Middleton, WI; her brothers Jonathan and Peter Wills of Asheboro, NC; her nieces JoAnna Dayton Crieble of Clarkston, WA, Kathryn Anderson of Denver, CO; her nephews Lane Dayton of St. Marie, ID, Jakob Anderson of Madison, WI, Caleb Crieble of Clarkston, WA and her loving Aunt and Godmother, Sylvia Ortego Bonnecarrere of Lafayette, LA.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Gwen Wills.
To the doctors and nurses, each and every person at WakeMed who met each day in the care of Laurie with wonderful kindness and gentle understanding of not only her medical needs but also her needs as a person, thank you from our heart.
"And he will raise you up on eagles' wings Bear you on the breath of dawn Make you shine like the sun.."
