Lauritta T. Conner, of Medina, NY, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025 at Medina Memorial Hospital at the age of 93.

Born August 22, 1931 in Medina, Rita was a daughter to the late Homer J. and Thelma M. (Plummer) Lake. She graduated from Lyndonville Central School, Class of 1948. Over the years, Rita worked for Wolcott’s Dairy, SA Cook & Co. and lastly housekeeping for Orchard Manor Nursing Home. Rita was an avid reader and loved to travel. She was a longtime active member of the Medina Senior Center and Johnson Creek Senior Citizens. She was also a die-hard fan of the Buffalo Bills.

Rita is predeceased by her husband, Harry A. Conner; daughter, Elaine McPherson; granddaughter, Pamela DeFazio; grandson, Donald Seitz Hale; sister, Judith Appleby; and brother, Norman Lake.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Leonard) DeFazio, Barbara (Wayne) Hale, Douglas (Deborah) Higgs, Karen (Michael) Bielak, Edward Higgins, William Higgins and Dale Lawton (Mary Zelinsky); son in-law, Paul McPherson; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Marylon Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29 from 10-11:30AM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Interment will follow in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights-Kaderli Memorial Fund, PO Box 684, Medina, NY 14103 or to Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, 615 West Ave., Medina, NY 14103.
