Lee Allen Michaletz

Lee A. Michaletz, 80, De Pere, passed away peacefully Saturday morning April 8, 2023, with Sue at his side.
He was born January 17, 1943, in Algoma, WI to Frank and Linda Michaletz. Lee attended Algoma High School, graduating in 1962. Lee joined the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1963.
On October 10, 1964, he married Madonna Hostak. She preceded him in death in October 1999. In 2012 he met Sue Kazik, his fiancée, and the love of his life. They shared many happy years together.
Lee was a skilled machinist working at various companies in Green Bay. In his spare time Lee taught an auto mechanic class at NWTC. Lee found his passion by opening Arena Auto in 1985 with his son David. Lee sold Arena Auto in 2015 deciding it was time to retire.
Lee continued to work on cars at his home and at his shop in New Franken, where he restored many vehicles. Lee's love for cars and speed took him to WIR in Kaukauna for the Quarter Mile Drag Race, racing his 1982 Chevy Caprice Station Wagon, along with many other vehicles he tinkered with for racing. Lee enjoyed car shows, going out for dinner and drinks, and spending time with family and friends. Lee was always there to lend a helping hand to any of the friends he made over the years.
Lee is survived by his fiancée; Sue, children; Colette (John) Michaletz of Hawaii, Beckie (Joel) Osgood, and David (Amy) Michaletz, both of Green Bay; Granddaughters, Leah (Chris) Bomber of Milwaukee with great grandchild baby Bomber arriving in August, Zoe Osgood Danielle Michaletz, and Nichole Michaletz, all of Green Bay; brother, Gene Michaletz of Algoma, and brother-in-law; Bill Moore of Indiana.
Lee is also survived by Sue's family, son Joseph (Lauren) Kazik, known as "Papa Lee," to grandchildren Adelyn, Maverick, and Nolan Kazik; sister, Mary (Larry) Mesce, Virginia Beach, VA, brother; Les Kornowske of De Pere, nephew; Wes (Sara) and children Roland, Jack, and Nora Kornowske, Ross (Melany) and children Riley and Owen Kornowske.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, sister Janet Moore, and sister in law Barbara Kornowske, along with many more family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday April 16, 2023, at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, 305 N. Tenth St. De Pere, 54115, from 2:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm with military honors to follow.
Sue would like to thank Promedica Hospice for all the care and compassion they gave Lee over the past months. Nurse Traci, you were his angel along with Erin, Mike, Corye, Janelle, Chaplains Brooks and William. All of you were so compassionate with his care. You will never be forgotten.
