Leonard Dye Obituary

Visit the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors - Augusta website to view the full obituary.
It is with tremendously broken hearts that we share our father, Leonard Dye, passed away suddenly yesterday with our mother, Sylvia Dye, by his side. Our parents have always set a godly example for us to live by and their unconditional love and forgiveness taught us what true love and friendships are about. If you know them, you love them. If you do not know them, we wish you did. They represent so many important things to us and they love each other like God loves the Church. Daddy is dancing and singing with Jesus (We hope He likes John Conlee and Merle Haggard) is healed and is no longer in the presence of sin. We miss you terribly and cannot wait for the day that we get to celebrate with you for eternity. We love you and will find a way to continue living and loving others like you taught us. Watch over us, we still need you. We love you more!
In addition to Leonard's wife, Sylvia, other family members include his three daughters, affectionately known as "Leonard's Losers": Karen Smith (Calvin), Jennifer Stewart (Larry) and Patti Dye; three grandchildren: Alison Yohe (Brian), Emily Mason (Jordan) and Davis Smith; great-grandchild: Trinity Grace Yohe; and his brother: Larry Dye (Peggy). He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Dye (Jane).
Daddy's visitation will be at Riverview Church, 1244 Fury's Ferry Road, Evans, Georgia on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. The celebration of life will follow at noon at the church. A luncheon will be provided at the church immediately following the celebration and all are invited as Daddy loved everyone. Memorials may be made to Riverview Church and mailed to the address above.

Sylvia, words can not express how very very sorry I am to learn of Leonard's passing. I know you and the girls are devastated and feel as if a piece of your heart is missing. I can't help but to think and laugh about all the havoc I know he is causing in Heaven. Know you are in my prayers and I love you!

Sylvia and family, you have our deepest sympathy in this time of loss and grief. But, it is comforting to know with certainty that Leonard is with our Lord. I often think of him and Karen with fond memories because I still live in the wonderful house they built for me in1993.

Sylvia, my heart aches for you and your family. It is so difficult to deal with the reality of Leonard´s passing, but hope each of you find comfort and peace in knowing He is in the presence of his Lord and Savior! Although I wasn´t around Leonard very much, he left quite a memorable and positive impression with his great personality and "those dimples"...wow. My prayers are with all of you. Love, Brenda "Wilson" DeCampli.
