Lewis Michael O'Rourke

Lewis Michael O'Rourke, age 85, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. Born in East Orange, New Jersey to the late Lewis and Edith O'Rourke, he was raised in Union, New Jersey before his move to Basking Ridge where he was a resident for 50 years.
He married the love of his life, Antoinette (Toni) Milito O'Rourke and the pair went on to have a beautiful 25 year marriage. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1962-1966. His favorite expression was "Once a Marine, Always a Marine." Lewis was a proud member of Local 825 Union of Operating Engineers for 50 years working in construction running large machines.
In addition to his parents, Lewis was predeceased by his cherished wife, Antoinette Milito O'Rourke; and his two siblings, William O'Rourke and Elizabeth Bell. He is survived by his two nieces, Teresa Hillyer and Karen Haggett and two nephews, William O'Rourke and Joseph Bell. A very special thanks to his Caregiver, Robin Delia and to the entire Milito Family who always gave him a seat at their table.
Due to a national holiday and the cemetery closed, burial has been rescheduled on Tuesday October, 15 at 11:45 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum, 145 Mt Airy Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
