Lexina B. (Leavitt) Joyce,76 of Beverly, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, July 20th with her children by her side.
Born in Washington D.C. on March 5th, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Leslie L. and S. Evelyn (Dixon) Leavitt.
Having moved frequently as a young child during her parent's military service, Lexi's family happily settled in West Haven, CT, where she grew up. Lexi attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT, where she met her first husband, Robert E. Burnes and her dearest friends Deb Collandar and Carrie Drye. Returning to Connecticut with her children, Jennifer and Chad, she settled back in West Haven. After marrying David Joyce, the family moved to Danvers, MA. Lexi then moved to Beverly, MA in 1991. Lexi's career was as an insurance agent, starting in Aetna while in CT and then joining Carmen Kimball Insurance in Beverly, MA, where she worked for nearly forty devoted years. So many of her friends she met through her work at Carmen Kimball.
Lexi was committed to her children, and cared so deeply for her family. Her favorite times were whenever the extended family could be together. She loved gardening, beautifying the world around her with flowers. She adored dogs, particularly her cocker spaniels. Lexi sang whenever she got the chance and had the most beautiful voice. She was smart, loved to learn, readily shared knowledge and gave the best advice.
Lexi is survived by a son, Chad Burnes; a daughter, Jennifer Lenharth and her husband Ross; two brothers, Steve Leavitt and Lee Leavitt; three grandchildren, James Burnes, Conner Burnes, and Samantha Lenharth; two great grandchildren, Isaac Burnes and Lilly Burnes; and many friends.
Funeral services for Lexina are private. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
