Obituary published on Legacy.com by Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Roscoe on Feb. 1, 2025.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Burns, a cherished mother, Nana, and friend, who left this world on January 30, 2025, at the age of 68. Linda's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unconditional devotion to her family.
Born in Anderson, Indiana, to Robert and Shirley Talley, Linda grew up with a strong sense of purpose and a heart full of compassion. As the first in her family to pursue higher education, she earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management from Purdue University-a milestone that not only paved the way for a distinguished career but also inspired those around her.
For over 30 years, Linda invested herself in her career at Frito-Lay, where she served as a Logistics, Distribution, and Transportation leader. She provided guidance to over 100 team members and led the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative, managing the largest operating CNG site within Frito-Lay and PepsiCo. Her diligence, integrity, and leadership inspired the respect and admiration of both colleagues and friends. She was a role model, demonstrating how to balance professional success with an unwavering commitment to family.
Above all, Linda was a devoted single mother to her two sons, Brooks and Bryan. She embraced this calling with passion and dedication, offering endless love, counsel, and support. Whether cheering from the bleachers at the ballpark or sharing quiet moments of wisdom, Linda's presence was a constant source of strength and comfort. Her love for her sons was infinite, and her sacrifices were a testament to her selflessness.
As a nana, Linda's joy was immeasurable. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and love, where her grandchildren-Pierce, Amora, Evelyn, Jon, and Sophia-were the center of her world. She had a gift for making every occasion special, infusing birthdays and holidays with her signature thoughtfulness and creative touch. Her love lives on in the countless memories she created and the affection she poured into her family.
Linda's kindness, generosity, and spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was a beacon of light, teaching those around her the true meaning of unconditional love and perseverance. Her legacy is one of grace, strength, and an enduring commitment to family.
Linda is survived by her son, Brooks (Emily) Burns; daughter-in-law, Jill Burns; and her cherished grandchildren, Pierce, Amora, Evelyn, Jon, and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Shirley (Carmichael) Talley; her brothers, Rick and Randy Talley; and her beloved son, Bryan Burns.
