Linda Roberta Corwin, 77, of Farmington, CT, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Roberta (Johnston) Hock and the loving mother of Jennifer and Jeffrey Corwin.
Linda graduated from Danbury High School in 1965 and continued her education at the Danbury Hospital School of Radiology, where she trained as an X-ray technician. It was during this time that she met the love of her life-her future husband, Benjamin-through his sisters, who were her classmates. Though he worked in Farmington, CT, and lived in New York, their love bridged the distance, leading to 28 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 1996.
Linda and her husband built a home and life together in Bristol, CT, before settling in Plainville to raise their two children. She devoted herself to her family by becoming a stay-at-home mom and creating a warm, loving home. Growing up, Jennifer and Jeffrey shared many treasured memories of pancake breakfasts, fishing, exploring, and being tricked into going to bed early during family vacations at Wolf Lake, NY. Linda also had a special love for the coastal charm of Ogunquit, Maine, where she traveled with her mother, sister, and family. There she enjoyed her fried shrimp, ice cream, beach, and favorite (only) hikes on the Marginal Way.
Linda was truly meant to be a grandmother. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and found pure joy in spending time with them. Whether attending concerts and musicals, celebrating every holiday with carefully decorated cards full of stickers, or simply sharing her favorite Junior Mints/Sno-Caps and stories, she made sure that Sam, Andy, Matt, and Ben always felt deeply loved. She treasured every photograph (especially the weird ones that made her laugh) of them, holding each memory close to her heart.
Linda had a deep love for animals and was known for always having treats in her pockets - something that endeared her to every dog she met. She loved watching cardinals and took comfort in their presence. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, often gathering for lunch and good conversation.
Linda is predeceased by her parents; her cherished husband, Benjamin Oliver Corwin Jr.; and her brother, Dean Hock.
Linda is survived by her children, Jennifer Leigh (and spouse, Suzanne) and Jeffrey Benjamin (and spouse, Julie); her siblings, Laurence Hock and Dianne (and spouse, Roger) Walsh; grandchildren, Sam, Andy, Matt, and Benjamin Oliver Corwin; several nieces and nephews; and many other cherished family members and friends. The family would also like to thank Linda's helper, Maggie, for providing care, kindness, and great food during these last few weeks.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a Visitation on Saturday, March 8th from 10am to 12pm at Bailey Funeral Home, located at 48 Broad Street in Plainville. The Bailey Funeral Home of Plainville is honored to have been entrusted with Linda's care and final arrangements.
